We are getting geared up for the Super Bowl - which, since Hayden is sick, basically means stocking every corner of the house with Kleenex and juice boxes. Yippee!

Happy Thanksgiving, everybody!

Hope everyone is doing well! We got our first snowfall here a few days ago, so we are really making the most out of every nice day now, spending lots of time at the park burning off all Hayden's energy :-)

Hayden had a great time playing, reading, and just having fun with "Gamma Coffee" over this past weekend! Jon and I even got to go out to dinner, which was great.

Hayden's favorite activity this summer has definitely been exploring the Blue Slide Park! At the beginning of the summer he still needed (or at least wanted) help climbing on the tot play set and going down slides. Now he just runs full-tilt at the big play sets! He calls slides "wheeeee", for obvious reasons, and for some reason he really dislikes swings.

We are so happy to have Jon home! (We're also happy to have a camera again so we can share pictures of Hayden, hee hee.) We loved having Aunt Molly visit - Hayden's vocabulary grew so quickly from all the constant interaction with his "Merly" - we're particularly proud of his assertion that everything he likes is "so money." Nothing like teaching a toddler a ten year old catchphrase for maximum hilarity.

So we got our new camera a few weeks ago...then that one got stolen with all our pictures on it from our trip to the zoo :-( But we just got our new new camera a few days ago so expect pictures more regularly. Hayden and I were feeling creative so we made a little piggy from a cardboard box - here is Hayden enjoying it and destroying it in the space of about five minutes. (By the way, his "pig" sound is a hilarious, vaguely French onk onk sound made deep in his nose - I'll try to get video of it.)

Just some pictures of the boy - he really went through a growth spurt in the past few weeks and abruptly outgrew all his clothes. That's okay, though, because I love shopping for him :-D


We can't wait to see Aunt Molly next month! I am teaching Hayden how to say her name, but so far I think he is under the impression that I am talking about Elmo, so he's super excited about the visit, hee hee.

Grandma Suzy requested video of Hayden - so here he is being awesome, as usual. I especially like at the end he can't control himself from waving "bye-bye" even though he's mad :)

Hayden finds an Amy Winehouse/Britney Spears mashup to be very danceable. I really don't want to know what that says about him, but I love when he decides he needs to move out into the middle of the room for his big dance break!

I upgraded the theme - the title of this style is "Subway" but it looks to me like Hayden's latest crayon drawings :-)

Wow, between the semester starting and Hayden being vertically mobile, time is passing quicker than ever! We dusted off the ol' cameras last week to get some footage of him so you'll be able to recognize him when we come home for Thanksgiving :-)



Getting still photos of him is a little harder now that he won't hold still, but we got a few good ones!

This summer is going by so quickly - between Emily's visit, finishing summer classes, a roadtrip to Ohio, and Alex visiting, Jon and I are amazed to look at the calendar and realize it's already the middle of August! We are definitely looking forward to the cooler weather, though. During the last two weeks we've been depending on air conditioning and iced coffee to get us through.




We have loved having family visit, and Hayden can never get enough of new playmates! Hopefully we will be able to come home and visit in not too long!

Wow, this entire month has gone by in a blur! With Aunt Emily here (or Booh-Ba, as Hayden calls her), we have just been going non-stop :-) We've been pretty bad about taking pictures, but here is a rock awesome video of Hayden discovering CAKE!

We took Hayden to the zoo today! He was unimpressed by the lions and tigers, which were sleeping and therefore not very interesting, but he really enjoyed the elephants, the monkeys, and the aquarium (especially the places in the aquarium where he could press his hands right up against the glass!).

We can't wait for Aunt Emily to get here next week! Hopefully this beautiful weather will hold for awhile longer!

It has been pretty hectic here now that the little tyrant is mobile! He won't hold still any longer while I take lots of pictures and upload them :-)

I did manage some video, though! Here is him crawling last week - I didn't get much of the actual crawling because I had to catch him before he got to the bookcase, but I got enough so you can see it, at least.
